In a time when video games and the internet rule the way we entertain ourselves, I feel like an old man, hanging onto what was, when Keiko and I set up our Scrabble board. We’ve had the same board for years, with the same scribbly notes of previous rounds hidden inside the box. There’s a legacy of scores with those chipped and worn wooden letters (just kidding, it still looks brand new). I think that I’m a bag of bread crumbs away from being the sixty year old man I can’t wait to be, anxious to feed the birds in Coney Island, with my grey hair blowing in the salty breeze.
Keiks and I decided to go out, but we had time beforehand. We figured, what better way to kill time than with a game of Scrabble? It’s not like I was going to win, though. Keiko is, perhaps, the smartest person I’ve ever met, and happens to be a Scrabble champion. Seriously, she’s got this game down to a science.
